Avoiding Freight Claims

At Thoroughbred Direct Intermodal Services our goal is to deliver your freight incident free. We will work with you to avoid damage claims. In an effort to avoid damage claims, TDIS can arrange to have representatives come to your location and demonstrate proper loading, blocking and bracing techniques.

Filing a Freight Claim with TDIS

In the unfortunate event that you do need to file a claim, we will accept any standardized claim form along with the following:

  • Manufacturer's invoice
  • Salvage allowance
  • Pictures
  • Other supporting documentation

Please remember that freight claims must be received within 9 months from date of delivery.

TDIS shall not be liable for any claims of less than a minimum claim amount of $250.00

Please note all claims for damage to private equipment must be sent directly to Norfolk Southern for processing.  Please see their Private Equipment Billing Guidelines for more information.
