Hurricane Michael: Train Operations Suspended Between ATL & JAX

Earlier this afternoon, Hurricane Michael made landfall in the Florida Panhandle as a catastrophic Category 4 storm. Michael currently has sustained winds in excess of 100 mph and the National Hurricane Center states, “Life-threatening hurricane-force winds will occur well inland across portions of the Florida Panhandle, southeast Alabama, and southwestern Georgia as the core of the hurricane moves inland later today and this evening.”

Hannibal, MO Flooding Causing Transit and Availability Delays

Flooding has been reported at the NS mainline near Hannibal, MO affecting rail traffic moving between Decatur and Kansas City.  As a result, shipments moving between Kansas City and the Northeast will be diverted thru St. Louis.  Customers should anticipate transit and availability delays of 8-12 hours between Kansas City and the Northeast for the next 14 days.

 

TDIS is upgrading to PC Miler v.30 for mileage calculations

TDIS is upgrading from PC Miler version 27 to PC Miler version 30 for mileage calculations.  This will be effective as of April 11, 2017.

Please note TDIS requires all shipments to be loaded in accordance with the standards set forth in the Association of American Railroad (AAR) Intermodal Loading Guide for Products in Closed Trailers and Containers. It is the responsibility of those tendering shipments to ensure proper blocking & bracing techniques are used to secure every load. TDIS will not be held liable for damages, refusals or claims resulting from improper loading.
